In Japanese roof tile industry, there is a company specialising in making glaze for the roof tile factories. 30 to 40 new colors are created daily and fired to make glazed roof tiles as color samples for the clients. Those sample tiles are discarded after they showed them to the clients even if they have no defectives. It is just because they need to continue making new colors and there is a limit for the storage space. As a result of trial and error to discover new expression, those discarded tiles have rare colors and texture on the surface which would never be on the market. The structure of the local industry can make unique waste, and what is discarded still has strong charms and possibility to touch our heart.
